"Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point." -C.S. Lewis

Jeff Bowders began playing drums at age 11 in the music metropolis of Salem, Oregon. He studied with some great local teachers (Jim Tilton, Lou Chavez, Graham Lear, Larry London) for the next ten years while playing and recording with a slew of bands all over the Northwest.

At 21 Jeff moved to Hollywood, California to attend PIT at Musicians Institute. While at PIT he had the honor and opportunity to study with some of the best teachers and drummers in the world. Jeff graduated with honors as "Outstanding Student of the Year."

Soon after graduation, Jeff moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursue a full-time professional career. For the next three and a half years, he toured all over the world playing with various artists (Rebecca St. James, Ginny Owens, Fusebox, Chris Tomlin, Paul Colman Trio).

Jeff now resides in Los Angeles where he teaches at PIT and performs and/or records with a diverse list of artists (Paul Gilbert, T.J. Helmerich, Memento, David Lee Roth, Michael Angelo, Joy Basu).

In 2003 Hal Leonard Publications released Jeff's first instructional book, Double Bass Drumming: The Mirrored Groove System to rave reviews, and in 2005 released his instructional DVD Double Bass Drumming Workshop.
