Jeff
Bowders began playing drums at age 11 in the music metropolis of
Salem, Oregon. He studied with some great local teachers (Jim Tilton,
Lou Chavez, Graham Lear, Larry London) for the next ten years while
playing and recording with a slew of bands all over the Northwest.
At 21 Jeff moved to Hollywood, California to
attend PIT at Musicians Institute. While at PIT he had the honor
and opportunity to study with some of the best teachers and drummers
in the world. Jeff graduated with honors as "Outstanding Student
of the Year."
Soon after graduation, Jeff moved to Nashville,
Tennessee to pursue a full-time professional career. For the next
three and a half years, he toured all over the world playing with
various artists (Rebecca St. James, Ginny Owens, Fusebox, Chris Tomlin,
Paul Colman Trio).
Jeff now resides in Los Angeles where he teaches
at PIT and performs and/or records with a diverse list of artists
(Paul Gilbert, T.J. Helmerich, Memento, David Lee Roth, Michael Angelo,
Joy Basu).
In 2003 Hal Leonard Publications released Jeff's
first instructional book, Double Bass Drumming:
The Mirrored Groove System to rave reviews, and in 2005 released his instructional DVD
Double Bass Drumming Workshop. |
